AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of forbidden rituals and fearsome transformations reverberate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission concentrates on "peculiar trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who accomplish the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside several objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Content
This update also brings the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
